Turning Adversity into Action
How Eenhoorn’s Wisconsin Senior Area Manager is Building Community Through the #SmallWins Foundation
From Challenge to Compassion
At Eenhoorn, community means more than just where we live and work—it’s the heart of everything we do. One of our own, Wisconsin Senior Area Manager Mark Fairchild, embodies this spirit in an extraordinary way. Nearly five years ago, Mark faced a life-altering diagnosis: end-stage liver disease due to Alcoholic Liver Disease (ALD). After initially being turned away by a healthcare system, he found hope and healing through a hospital committed to treating the “Whole Patient.” The unwavering support he received from those around him left a profound impact, ultimately inspiring him to give back in ways that now uplift others facing similar journeys.
Building a Mission of Hope
In 2022, Mark founded the #SmallWins Foundation as a gesture of gratitude for the compassion his family experienced. What began as a mission to provide small, barrier-free grants to youth undergoing transplant treatments has grown into a multifaceted effort. The foundation now supports substance use recovery, offers mentorship, and partners with transplant facilities in volunteer capacities. Mark has taken his advocacy nationwide, speaking at transplant events and challenging stigma around liver disease, particularly in cases involving alcoholic cirrhosis. His message remains clear: every patient deserves dignity and a holistic approach to care.

Leading with Purpose
Mark’s journey is a powerful reminder that leadership is not just about professional accomplishments—it’s about the positive change we spark in others’ lives. At Eenhoorn, we are proud to celebrate his work and the message of resilience it carries. Through #SmallWins, Mark continues to show how small acts of kindness and courage can ripple outward to create stronger, more compassionate communities. Let’s continue to celebrate those small wins—today and every day.
